About us

Firewood 4 Africa has been supplying businesses and warming up homes across the Western Cape since 2003.

We source our wood from local farming communities creating jobs and supporting locals. We donate firewood to certain non-profit organisations and mulch to assist with vegetable gardens at schools in the area creating food & nourishment for many children who would otherwise go hungry. All our wood is alien vegetation (Bluegum, Black Wattle, Rooikrans and Pine), seasoned naturally by weathering agents (no chemicals) specialising in closed combustion fireplaces, open fireplaces, braai’s and pizza ovens.

We pride ourselves in our service, quality of wood and being on time.

WOOD OPTIONS

BLUEGUM

Bluegum is a long burning wood that burns down to an ash, ideal for closed combustion fireplaces, open fireplaces and pizza ovens.

rEDGUM

Red gum burns long and cleanly. It can last up to 2 hours with just 10-15 minutes on a bed of coals. Moreover, it produces minimal smoke emissions. Plus, it’s eco-friendly!

BLACK WATTLE

Black Wattle is hotter burning than the Bluegum but not as long burning. It burns down to a small coal and is best suited for closed combustion fireplaces, open fireplaces, pizza ovens and braais for small groups.

ROOIKRANS

Rooikraans is an ideal braai wood as it gives off the most amount of heat and burns down to a coal. It is not suitable for closed combustion fireplaces.
